If you and your child would like to take advantage of a free school meal this is really simple! Request a form at the school office or download from the link below and return as soon as possible . Changes to menus can only be made at the end of each half term in readiness for the net six weeks.
Free School Money!
Did you know that if your child is eligible for free school meals the school receives extra funds to help support their learning, development and achievement? There is no obligation to take the meal, if your child would prefer sandwiches made at home, but you must register as eligible in order for us to receive the money your child is entitled to. Registering for eligibility also entitles you to additional school funding such as free club sessions and free educational visits.
This is in addition to the Government’s new offer of Universal Free School Meals for infants, which comes into force in September. Whilst Walsall Council are still trying to find a solution that will help us to provide hot meals for our children, I am afraid that at present we can only offer a cold meal to children in September. It is still your choice to take a packed lunch provided by school, or to provide one from home.
Please help us to help your child by applying if you think your family is eligible. If you are unsure how to go about this, just call in to the school office for help or advice, and ask for Mrs Hill. You can apply in five ways, by completing a form in school, by applying online Click Here, by downloading the form from our website Click Here, by visiting the Benefits Service at the First Stop Shop, Civic Centre, Darwall Street, Walsall, WS1 1XU or by telephoning 0300 555 2855 for further assistance.
You will qualify for free school meals if you or your partner are receiving:

- Income Based Job Seekers Allowance (JSA(IB))

- Child Tax Credit (CTC), provided you do not also receive Working Tax Credit and have an annual income, as assessed by the Inland Revenue, that does not exceed £16,190
